5 Months for Liam

Liam at 5 months...

So this series of pictures really depicts you well my Little Liam.
I do not think I have ever met a happier, good natured baby! You even have your brother beat. Even when you got sick for the first time this past week you would still give us these pathetically cute little smiles and didn't complain much.

You finally got your hands on it and decided to see what it tasted like. You have had this horrible cough and congestion for a week and a half. It was a battle to get you to take liquid of any kind from me or the bottle for almost a week. You just about made me crazy. However, your appetite returned Sunday and for that I am thankful! Your cough is still hanging around, but hopefully not for long.
You love to watch your sister and brother. I sometimes have to take you to another room to feed you because you get so distracted by them or pretty much noises of any kind. You don't really roll and are content in your exersaucer or on your play mat. That is actually fine by me. I find myself not wanting you to reach milestones too fast...just in case you truly end up being the baby of the family.
I honestly am not sure how much you have grown this month. We will have to do a little informal weight check.
You do however go from 8pm to after 7 am between feedings. Now are you always asleep during that time? NO! Sometimes you will randomly have little parties in bed by yourself. Sometimes you just wake up early. However, breakfast is not served until after 7 am. So I really wish you would take a clue and sleep that long too! You always keep it a guessing game. You would think I would learn to go to bed earlier and sleep in on the front side instead of hoping for the impossible of all 3 kids sleeping later.
You gobble your oatmeal down and love it. I meant to start you with some veggies, but I am going to try and make baby food this time around. So I know that if I start buying it, I will never try to make it. So hopefully one day soon...we'll both give veggies a whirl!
You are such a sweet, sweet boy! We all love you so much! 5 months down and so many more to come!
I am making it my goal for you, Liam, to not be a pacifier snob like Nolan but also not paci obsessed like HK was. So I let you have one but I do not give it to you when you go to sleep. I keep one in the bed for desperate moments. You are also growing attached to your little giraffe lovey. It drives me crazy when I check on you and you have that giraffe over your face. That's where you like it. I take it off...5 minutes later it's back on. Nana says to put it at your feet, but then how will you develop that bond with it at your feet?
So I recently checked on you and where was the giraffe...of course, it was over your face. I pulled it off only to find the picture above! You had found the paci and put it in your mouth yourself! You sneaky little rascal. Just realize...if you want it you have to be able to get it...I don't play the plug the baby back up with the paci all night or all through nap!
I couldn't resist the picture!
As I get ready to go check on you now...I bet anything I will find giraffe on your face and will put it a little farther away for the night (cause I can't check on you that often while I am sleeping).

Some Things Never Change

For awhile anyway...
HK and Kellen got to play for the first time since right before Christmas this past Friday. We went over to Evansville and met Brooke and boys at the mall. We played and ate lunch. Then we did just a smidge of shopping before heading home.

As we entered the mall HK, was pushing the stroller and said, "I will push it now, but you will have to push it later because I will be holding Kellen's hand."
And she was right. Kellen will still hold her hand for now. Eventually this...
will be just this memory. One will be holding worms in the other's face and one will be doing little girly annoying things to irritate the other. But for now, I will cherish this sweet little picture and that they still think of each other as best friends.
After lunch we treated the kids to a carousel ride.
Kade watched.
Liam slept.
Nolan was super excited!
HK kept hollering back at Kellen the whole time and telling him "I love you".

Nolan was intrigued with how his "horsey" was going up and down...
He was looking up trying to figure it out.
Ahhh...there they are. Best of friends...for now.

Swimming in February

After library last Thursday, HK dug out her swimsuit that Samantha had given her. She wanted to try it on...so we did. Well you can guess what happened next. Nolan wanted to put a swimsuit on. So we did. Then they dug the swim bag out of the closet with the floaties and beach ball.
HK wanted to go outside and go swimming. I had to explain it was still a bit cold for that. Then I asked if she wanted to go swimming in the bath tub...
You see the answer to that.
They went swimming in the tub with swimsuits and floaties AND had a BLAST!
Yes there was quite a bit of water on the floor, but I just threw some towels down.

Nolan was not happy when they had to get out!
He quickly got over it when we made a fort!

What a crazy, but fun day! I can't wait until we can go swimming again!

How To Eat a Happy Meal

Let me begin this post with saying that a Happy Meal from McDonalds is a rare "treat". It was Tuesday night...HK's dance night. Daddy was working the ER. Sometimes we will eat with Grampy and Nana on those nights, but this particular one Grampy had a meeting and Nana was going out with the girls. So it was me and the kiddos. Let's just say that drive-thru and $1.99 happy meals makes life for Mom super easy! So Happy Meals it was.
Halfway through eating (at home), Nolan decided his bag Happy Meal box would best be used as a hat.
He was pretty pleased with himself to say the least.

He ate the rest of his meal with it on his head. I am pretty sure the food tasted better this way!

When HK saw the attention it was getting, she decided that she would wear hers too.

She had to make sure the girl side was facing front.

The Happy Meal night satisfied my craving for McD french fries and made my night that much easier!

Uncle Nick's B'day

Not this past weekend, but a week ago we celebrated Uncle Nick's b'day.
We got together at our house and had brownies and ice cream. Then later Nate grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs. Yes it was warm enough in February to do this. The beginning of the month we had some beautiful weather!!! It officially gave me spring fever!
The birthday boy blowing out his candles. Uncle Nick doesn't like cake so we always have some other kind of dessert. I can't say I blame him. Cake is okay, but there are many other desserts I would rather have than cake!!!

Uncle Nick and Aunt Terrah getting some practice in before their little one comes in May.

Rylee Kate always likes to help HK count her money in her piggy bank.

Uncle Nick and Nolan were quite the reading buddies this weekend...notice the books they were reading!
HK's room was a gathering spot for many...

RK and HK gave a little performance.

Nolan wanted to join them too!

Reagan had a little photo shoot with everyone. Nick was posing for her.
