Happy 1st Birthday Keagan!

Last Friday night we went to Keagan's 1st birthday party! It's so hard to believe the little boys are already one!

He dove right into the cupcake with no problem! I'm pretty sure he would've eaten more than one cupcake. He LOVED it! It was so funny to watch him!
"What are all you people staring at?"

When we got there Kellen took HK over to his Aunt Shannon and Nana and introduced her, "This is my best friend, Hallie Kate." So sweet! When we left that night HK said that was her family too.

Happy Birthday Big Boy!

I Wanna Be Like You

These pictures tell so much more than words can say from little ones.

At Keagan's birthday party the other night, Nolan came walking out with a stethascope around his neck (just like below). He smiled real big and just walked back down the hall. He came back several times like this. I even watched him pick it up and put it around his neck like he does it everyday. He has also started doing this at home now!

After dinner one night this week Nate said something about it being his night to go play basketball and he needed to go change clothes. HK wanted to go...again. So she went into our closet and changed clothes.
Here she is on her way back into our bathroom to fix her hair. She has on my shirt, vest, 2 scarves (the ones she picked out for me for Christmas), shoes, and hat.

She is not happy here and crying because she actually got into my makeup and was putting it on. I don't care so much for her putting on makeup. It is the fact that my makeup is something I spend a bit more on than other things. I tried to explain to her that we have play make up to use when she wants to do that. She had sparkly blush everywhere!!! I had to wash everything she had on...not to mention the floor, cabinet, and all my makeup!

There is sort of a smile on that shimmery face.

Oh my....how our children watch us!

Dance Me Daddy

Hallie Kate got a book for Christmas from her Daddy called "Dance Me Daddy". It is so sweet!!! It comes with a cd with Cindy Morgan singing the song. HK LOVES to dance with her Daddy and especially to this song! I have been meaning to catch it on video. I did get it a a couple of weeks ago, but am just getting around to sharing it. It's one of those that you want to have someday when she is getting married! She happened to have a bit of the sillies during this particular dance. Listen to the words...I tear up every time I watch them dance together to this song.

Finally...College Roommate Reunion

So I am finally able to catch up! We have been attacked with a GI bug around our house. We had a college reunion weekend at Kristin's in Nashville, TN the weekend of the 16th...and I am just now catching up.

When we got home that first Monday Nolan was vomiting Monday and Tuesday. Then he was constipated Tuesday and Wednesday. That was followed by sudden relief diarrhea Th and Fri. I finally thought we were over it all.

We were suppose to go to Eldorado Saturday to meet with the builders to talk about our potential new house for later this year. While on the way there, Nolan vomited in the car. It was a 25 minute stop on the side of the rode trying to clean it all up. I just chalked his up to car sickness and my queasy stomach to his vomit everywhere (and my tendency for car sickness as well). Not long after getting to Eldorado my vomiting started and lasted until the next day around noon. I felt horrible because we never would have gone for the day had I known that Nolan and I were going to be sick! I spent the rest of the day between the bathroom and the couch. Nolan actually acted fine until Sunday late morning. He then had diarrhea and another round of vomiting. Oh my goodness. So Nate and I came on back to Evansville Sunday morning and the kids were going to stay with Mom & Dad. 6 am Monday morning Dad called saying we probably needed to come get the kids because they both started with the GI bug during the middle of the night. I felt horrible! I still was not feeling well, but we left at 7 am to go get the kids. We were back by 10 am. Wow! Let's just say not much was done by anyone that day! Just today have I felt like I have my energy and appetite back. So here I am sitting down to blog our girls weekend that was almost two weekends ago!
On a side note...Dear Germs, We have had our fair share of you this winter. Please stay away from our home!

So Paula and Micah and the kids and myself all met up at Kristin's in Nashville the other weekend. I had not seen Paula since Micah was born and he is 18 months. They are also expecting their 2nd child in August. We had a great time, but I was definitely reminded why I don't want stairs in my home with young children!

Kristin has these beautiful openings in her staircase. What a perfect place for a prince to pretend that she is in her castle!

She would stand and go up and down while singing her made up songs.

She also had to put on her princess nightgown.
The princess waiting in the window for her prince to arrive.

After bathtime on Friday night, HK wanted to make a band. She had to wear her puffy vest over her pj's. She also made Kristin put on her puffy vest. Kristin got out the drums for the little boys. Tyler had Micah's little guitar. Kristin was suppose to play the piano. HK was the singer...all parts assigned by HK.

Singing her solo. Yes, she made up all the words while everyone played their parts.

Nolan getting into his drum part.

Micah enjoyed the drums as well!

Saturday morning we went to a really neat place called The Monkeys Treehouse. We met HK's new friend, Macy and her Mom, there too.
There were multiple different play areas, but all were in the same big room. That was very nice because it was easier to keep an eye on them and gave them more freedom to roam!

Nolan loved the ball pit!

He would just dive right in. I think that might have been one of his favorite things. This may be where our GI bug began!

HK loved the stage...imagine that! From the beginning she dressed up in a cheerleading outfit and began singing. She loved it when I told her the outfit she had on was a High School Musical outfit! It's funny that it says EHS...too bad it wasn't purple and gold.

Nolan was actually quite brave wondering and roaming as he desired. He climbed the stairs to the top of the treehouse several times.

HK climbed the rope wall.

They both enjoyed some time fishing. HK came to me one time very upset and crying because a boy took her fishing pole out of her hand. There was obviously nothing I could or would do about it so I tried to make it a teaching moment. Think about how this made you feel...this is one reason you don't want to do this to someone else...yadda yadda yadda.

This is a view from the top of the curvy slide in the treehouse. Nolan actually went down this slide several times. He didn't seem to mind. I would lay him down and hold on as far as my arm would reach and then Kristin would catch him at the bottom.

Nolan thought he might try to climb the rope wall. He stopped at the first hole as his foot just kept on falling right through the hole.

This was also a fun area. Climb to your heart's content.

HK tried to stack as tall as she could reach.

Then when she couldn't reach anymore, she made a stool to build even taller!

Until it all collapsed on top of her. She loved it!

Micah sliding on down.

HK giving Nolan a concert.

He decided he wanted to be a part of the show too.

Nolan loved the area set up like a house with kitchen, laundry, etc.

He was very satisfied with himself when he climbed up on the stool.

Micah and HK sharing the kitchen.

HK and Micah sat in the backseat together. They became fast buddies. I think HK liked it because he could even do more than her brother, yet she could still boss him for the most part. They were both glued to the dvd player if it was on.

The boys rode in the double stroller together when we went to Opry Mills. They were troopers in that thing...we definitely tested their shopping patience!

We ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. It was a great choice because it was great entertainment for the kids!

HK got to see Marty (from Madagascar).

Nolan not to sure what to think the first time there was a "thunderstorm".

HK did not like the thunder at all!

It was definitely a very stimulating environment for all!

Sunday on the way home from church, Nolan just couldn't make it any longer. We have also learned since then that he actually will not go to sleep without his puppy. At Mom and Dad's both puppies had gotten barfed on and were in the washing machine at the beginning of naptime. Nolan was frantic until Nate took a damp puppy up to Nolan. He took it, laid down, and went right to sleep. So needless to say I am going to be ordering a third one to have on hand just in case! It really is a sweet relationship!

Sunday morning at church HK & Macy had on matching sweaters and brown boots. Macy is the daughter of one of Kristin's friends from church. Macy and her Mom, Kristen, met us at The Monkeys Treehouse as well. This was the girls second playdate. They have a great time together.

All in all, it was a really great weekend! It was fun time being with everyone! I think next time we will bring a gate for Kristin's stairs! :-)

By the way girls, I meant for us to get a picture of the three of us together! I am very disappointed that I forgot to do this!!!
