Here She Comes...

We went to the open house for HK's dance class. She is officially enrolled in the 3 yr old beginners class. It is 1 hr once a week. It includes 20 minutes each of tap, ballet, and tumbling. She got to meet her teacher, see where she would be dancing, and where Mommy (or Daddy) would be watching. She was so bashful and quiet. Toward the end she did begin to slightly warm up. I am glad that we went for this first look.

She got her ballet shoes and tap shoes that night. On the way home she was upset because she thought she was having dance class that night. I had to explain that classes did not start for a couple more weeks. Her response was...
"I am not happy about this!"
SO here she is in her new pink leotard and tap shoes...ready to go!

Tiff's Baby Shower

Last Saturday we went to Tiff's baby shower in Eldorado. She & Jason are expecting their first baby towards the end of October. So we drove over for the morning to help her celebrate. They are not finding out the sex of the baby ahead of time so that adds extra anticipation! Congratulations to you guys and we wish you the best. We can't wait to meet this precious creation!
Yes, if you look closely you can sort of tell she is pregnant. All of my friends look amazing when they are pregnant! The next time my goal is to be like all of my friends that somehow keep the weight low. So send me all of your tips girls! I'm making a list!

Dirty Face

We were at the playground one morning last week...it was a little too cool for swimming.

HK was running around having a blast.

Nolan got mad because he wanted out to play too! So I got him out and we went down the slide. He had fun in the swing. Then we went to the tunnel with Sissy.
This was the result. I have taken HK to the playground ump-teen times...and NEVER has her face ended up looking like this. I think he is just trying to welcome me and gear me up for the world of boys. Thanks for easing me in slowly Nolan!

Siblings

Nolan's "Little Brother" shirt is just about too little. So I wanted some pics for the books before retiring it in the tote in the closet. So one morning I tried to capture some pics...they were somewhat cooperative.
HK or Sissy

Nolan is "SO BIG"....or other wise none as "Bubba" "Bubby" "Bubby-bore" "Nollie"...these are all things that HK calls him other than "sweetheart" or other terms of endearment. I am not a fan of Nollie and I let her know that each time she says it. That is not one that I want to stick!

"Okay Nolan let's go. I can go faster than you."

HK: "See I told you I could do it faster!"
Nolan: "Who really cares. I'm just a baby. You wait until I am three. You will be running and hiding from me girl!"

"Bubby I want to tell you a secret!"

"No way...Mommy did not say that about me...maybe about you!"

There they are...Big Sister & Little Brother!
I only pray they enjoy each other 10 years from now as much as they do today!

Random Vacation Pics

These pictures are all just random pictures that didn't really fit in with any of my other postings.

Then I think I am done except for a couple of pics that Grampy & Nana bought at a couple of the attractions we went to. I have to borrow those from them and scan them in!

I see myself in the mirror...yeah!

So I totally debated this picture...it was too funny to pass up. She got these hot pink teeth at the Kalahari indoor theme park. She was crawling around acting like a monster when we got back. Uncle Kent doctored up the photo just a touch...

Melissa at the Wisconsin rest stop

Nolan chillin' out in the floor
I love this picture of Nate!!!

Nana posing for Uncle Kent

Lucy tried to sneak in Nana's suitcase!

Grampy and HK taking a nap in "HK's room"

"See...here it is Mommy." I don't think she was too happy about posing!

Grampy and his two kiddos!

Dinner at the "vacation house"...that's what HK called it all week.

Daddy and HK snugglin' on the couch...they got a lot of snuggling in this week!

This was an attraction we didn't make it to. It is an upside down White House. It looked very intriguing. HK called it the crooked house EVERY time we drove by it.

BLOCKS...this is the number one hot item in our house right now for both kids. We could have a big basket of only these and everyone would be happy. HK loves to build stuff. Nolan loves to knock them down. HK & I build towers all over the floor just to watch Nolan crawl around and get them!

Family vacations are some of my most favorite memories!
I am so glad that we are continuing the tradition!

Vacation - Oh the Last Day

The last morning of vacation we went out for breakfast at Paul Bunyan's....what a feast! It was family style dining. I love to eat out for breakfast or eat a "big" breakfast. I love to have that kind of breakfast for supper! So this meal was great. They brought out these big cake donuts first (their secret to filling you up). Then it was ham, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy! It was so delicious!

Nolan finally just cut us off...he was sick and tired of going out to eat and not getting a darn thing from it all! SO he just pulled the top down and read his book.

After a huge breakfast we did the boat tour of the Lower Dells. This is the damn that separates the Upper & Lower Dells. This tour was only an hour. It was a good thing too because the natives were restless, and it was much warmer than the first boat tour.

Nolan definitely needed a nap and was fighting Nana as she was trying to get him to go to sleep. So she finally let him choose his position...and well, there you have it. That's how he slept on boat ride #2. I thought it was pretty adorable!

I love the close up shot!

Then there is Miss Drama Queen singing us a song.

and Mr. Photographer

Then it was back to the condo for lunch, naps/resting, and getting ready for our last night out on the town!

HK has on her pink Indian head piece from Nana & Grampy and her pink little shaker to match.

We did go-karts a second time. These were pretty fun! It was a fierce competition out there!

HK rode with Uncle Kent on round one and with Daddy on round two. As you can see she had her own steering wheel on these. She LOVED that!

"Come on guys...you know I would love to go real fast too! It can't be anymore dangerous than leaving me alone in the room with my sissy!"

While browsing through the stores that night, I find an infant Indian head piece. I had to put it on for a picture, but couldn't spend the money for him to pull it off and chew on it (thus leading to choking).

Nolan LOVES a good game of peek-a-b00

The last night there Nana discovered these awesome kids beach towels...one of them was a mermaid!!! HK was so excited! I can't believe we didn't find them until the last night.
....and Nana was the shark.
Everyone enjoyed the hot tub one last time! I can't believe HK actually liked it. She normally doesn't even like her bathwater very hot at all. Yet she seemed to love this "hot swimming pool". The last night we just let her stay up until we went to bed...it was easier and more fun that way. I was secretly also hoping it might help her sleep a bit more in the car the next day.

We had a wonderful time, but I am always ready to get back home...although I would've liked to have brought that bed home with me!

Vacation - Birthday Fun

After my pedicure we all headed out for birthday fun!

We went to the Pizza Pub for dinner. It was great pizza.

Nolan was not happy that he couldn't have anything to eat or drink.

Here we are again! I don't think Nate's face was somewhat displeased because he was having a picture with me...I think it was because he was "on-duty" for both kids and Nolan kept dropping his toys in the floor!!

Kent & Melissa

HK getting her "sodie" for my birthday!

HK & Grampy went to tell the waitress that it was her Mommy's birthday. I was so embarrassed when they came to sing at our table. However, we did get ice cream out of it!

Then we went to play putt-putt golf...

Mother daughter pose 1

Pose 2

Pose 3...she just naturally wants to be like her Mother...what can I say?

Uncle Kent had a little mini-photo shoot with Nolan while waiting for his turn.
He couldn't play golf, but he entertained himself!

Ahhh...you can find those two together after all!

Nana wanted a group shot by the waterfall. We were groaning about it, but I really like it!

So air hockey is one of our absolute most favorite things to play together. Anytime one is around I get the itch to challenge my husband. I don't always win, but it is one of the very few things that I actually can come out the winner (others include Scrabble & Battleship)! I was going to pass the table by, but HK wanted to play. After about 30 seconds she was done. So guess what...."OH Nate....where are you?" You guessed it...the match began. I did win...and when it comes to beating my husband I am a sore winner! Yes, the chances I get to rub it in...I do....though it's all in good fun!
Do you see that gloating grin on my face...but he still loves me anyway! Don't you ever let him tell you that he lets me win either! He has crazy hair there because it rained on us the last 5 holes of golf!

After golf we stopped at an Indian store where they let HK sit upon the horse. This is where HK got her Indian headdress from Grampy & Nana (to be pictuered later). After browsing this store we headed back for some yummy dessert!

I will NEVER turn down a chocolate covered strawberry!!! I love them. This was one of my requests!

I had also asked for cheesecake, but then I realized there was a Dairy Queen....love their ice cream cake!!!!

HK and I sort of got "matching shirts"...I use that term some what loosely. They are both red sweatshirts that say Wisconsin Dells with "Oldham" on the back of them. HK loved that we had matching shirts. We put them on for dessert! The next day HK wanted to know if she had a shirt like the one I was wearing...guess she wanted to match again!

While waiting for dessert we had some fun snuggle time in the floor!
All in all it was a great day! I'm happy that I now have several pictures with my husband and my children!!

A side note...there was another set of twins along...
Dad & Kent have developed a knack for coming out in the same outfits. Kent changed another day because they did it. Then I think they matched going home. I have also posted another picture on here at HK's b'day where they matched. Not sure if this means Kent is getting older or Dad just looks younger???

Just in case you all were wondering...I am 29 and holding!
