The Pool Is Open!

Tuesday night was the official opening of the swimming pool at our apartment complex. They had pizza, salad, and dessert for everyone from 6-8. Daddy was home in enough time that we went for a walk first and ended up down at the pool for supper and a swim.
HK got all of the way in and Nolan pretty much all of the way. Daddy was dressed, but only got his legs in the water. Mommy didn't dress for the water because I figured I will be getting in plenty over the next few weeks!
It has been quite warm for this time of year so the water was bearable...cold, but doable.
HK was sooooo excited because this year her feet can touch the bottom. If she told us once, she told us a dozen times while we were there (and a few more after getting home).

She showed us what she remembered from last year. The goal this year for her is to have the floaties gone before summer is over! We tried to get swim lessons at the YMCA close to us back in April, but they were filled up with members by the time registration opened up for non-members. So I guess we will see what we can do on our own.

It took Nolan longer to adjust than HK. He seems to mind the cold water more than she does.

I told HK we would go as much as we could before we moved. That's the only good thing about temps this hot this early...helps the water not be so cold! So we are off this morning for our first morning swim of the season. Brooke, Kellen, & Keagan are meeting us there.

Summer Fun Has Begun

Warning...crazy pregnant Mom that could not pick between pictures...

I know it's not officially summer and will not be for a few weeks. The weather here however would tend to disagree with the official changing of seasons. It has been hot and humid already for just being May (this does not bode well for the rest of the summer...ughh). So after Aunt Ang's bridal shower we had to break out the slip n slide at Nana & Grampy's. Then they even broke down and got a new kiddie pool for the year. To top it all off, we had our first shaved ice of the season...mmmmmmm!

Nolan had just woken up, but HK was going strong without a nap at this point. He wasn't quite sure about throwing his body around as recklessly as his sister was doing. I am sure it will only be a matter of repetitive exposure before he is doing crazy stuff too!

Nolan just wanted to try and grab the water!
HK would slide with all of her might!
And what good is a sprinkler if it can't offer you a drink too!

HK picked Nolan up and carried him through the water. Then they landed in the freshly mowed grass. Nolan was covered in grass...he was NOT very happy with her about that one!

Now this is all he really wanted to do. So we changed his wet clothes and he got a ride.

HK continued to slide!

She wiped out when Grampy was spraying the grass off of her.

Nolan even got a ride from Nana. HK said, "You know how to drive a tractor (mower)?" Definitely that questioning in her voice. Nana replied, "You just watch me!" HK thought it was funny. So then continued to do as she normally does when Nolan is getting a ride...she chases them with the wagon.

Nolan wanted all hands off and he wanted to steer this weekend. He would literally push Nana's hands off his and the wheel.

So below is a ridiculous amount of pictures. These were taken when I was not there. It cracked me up when I looked at them. Mostly I was laughing because of the the faces and poses HK gave in each one. What a stinkin' ham bone. Nolan is not far behind, but she was definitely putting on a show here...

I know exactly what she is saying here. She puts her hands on her hip and points the other finger and says, "Oh yeah!" I can so hear her even though I wasn't there!

Oh so much drama already!

I think this means Nolan wanted out!

Then there is this face. How to resist that one!?!?!
Although I think it could be pre-poop face instead of serious/sweet face. He is not to be out done by his sister...He definitely can ham it up too...

I guess he has a good teacher to learn these crazy things!

Well if it's going to be a hot summer, at least we have ways to stay cool and have fun!!!

Clark & Oldham Children

It was soooo good to get to see Michelle and the kids at Angela's shower.
Will and Nolan became quick buddies!

Samantha & Hallie Kate bonded over the swing set! They played outside in their dresses for quite some time. Jameson was usually found not far from the girls. He even had them have a contest to see who could hit him the hardest. HK was getting ready to get in trouble until Jameson explained that he wanted them to...it was a contest. I guess it's been awhile since I've been a kid.
They were so cute to watch.

Nolan would follow Will around the house.

Will finally got to play us a song!

Michelle brought this tulle and flowers for some dress up fun! Obviously dressing up is one of HK's favorite things to do!

They brought Nolan this adorable cowboy hat. I didn't actually get a shot of him with it on...which is quite hysterical (this big cowboy hat on his jug head definitely make his legs look like chicken legs). He is sitting at his favorite spot in Nana & Grampy's house...the seat in front of the windows.

HK was ready to go home with them and I think she would've if I had let her.

Ang, Emily, HK, & I went with them to Mackies that afternoon before they took off back home. Who can ever turn down the offer of Mackies? Well at least HK and I cannot. Once again the kids had a great time together and it was great to catch up with Michelle!!!! I loved watching our children play together.

Now we have to make it down to see them!!!!
