Visiting Santa

We bundled up and headed out to the mall Wednesday evening.
We were off to see Santa. So far HK has not wanted anything to do with Santa.
Tonight as we got ready, it was no different. She told us she wasn't going to sit on his lap and she did not want to get out of the stroller. We told her that Nolan needed her help. She said she would help him, but then she wanted Mommy to help her. We waited in line and she strained her neck to see those ahead of her. It was finally our turn and Nolan went first. She still didn't want to get close.

Then I tried to get her to stand in front of Santa...crawling up there was out of the question. She didn't want to. Then all of a sudden she sat down on the ground in front of him, looked at me, and said, "I sit right here." End of discussion. I jumped back quickly and the lady snapped a few pictures. Wow...no tears...no big episode. We were quite pleased and surprised. It's not his lap, but it's a good picture! It might have helped that we promised she could go the play area when we were done and that she could have a popsicle when we got home!

HK wanted to walk in the mall...so I let her...she insisted that she needed to hold Nolan's hand.

This is the first whirl in the new double sit n stand stroller. It was very cold outside. So, HK decided she needed to get under the blanket with Nolan.

When we got home, HK got to eat her promised popsicle. Since it was red, she had to take off the dress with the white fur on it...above is the result...we couldn't help laughing at the picture she made. What a goof!

A few pics from week two

This is my favorite of his Christmas outfits. Unfortunately he did not wear it very long yesterday. Daddy, being a male himself you'd think he'd think of this, forget to use the washcloth to protect against pee going everywhere! So we had to change it soon after being put on. Hopefully Daddy learned his lesson!

Chillin' out on the floor by the Christmas tree following breakfast.

Nolan's first bath. He was not happy!!! He does not like to have his diaper changed, clothes changed, or a bath....guess he doesn't like being cold!

The bath wore him out....I guess Daddy too.

HK lovin' on her brother once again! HK has been gone for a few days to Eldorado. She will be coming home in the morning. It's been nice for it to be quiet and calm for a few days to adjust. However, we are ready for her to come home. She's a handful but also very enjoyable. She keeps you on your toes! Earlier in the week she won the award for crying more than Nolan! Last night Nolan went 4 hours between feedings! It was great! Thank you little man!

Visitors!

Nolan has had several visitors since being home! Mommy loves visitors because it helps her to keep from going stir crazy!!

Grandma Gray and Bekah came to visit on their way to the airport to pick up Aunt Anita and Uncle Ed.

Nolan & Cousin Bekah

Nolan with Aunt Natalee who came by last Monday afternoon.

Kellen is checkin' Nolan out. We tried to tell him to get ready because he has one of these on the way...he just thought we were crazy.

Kristin drove up from Nashville last Saturday to visit. She brought supper too which was wonderful! He pretty much slept the whole time she was here.

Our First Weekend Home

Uncle Kent & Grampy went to the Colts game last Sunday. So Nana came and stayed with us. It was a relaxing and fun first weekend home!!!

Nana snuggling Nolan with his legs all scrunched up.

Nana & Grampy bought HK and Nolan matching Christmas pj's. It was kind of hard to find gender neutral 3T and newborn that matched...but she did.

The next morning when HK realized that her Daddy and Nolan were still in bed sleeping, she wanted to join them. She decided she wasn't ready to wake up yet either.

I had bought a gingerbread house kit to do with HK. I decided with an extra set of Nana's hands around that it would be a good time to tackle this project. Mommy and Nana helped while Daddy cooked supper. He opted for cooking instead of icing and candy!?!

Here is the finished project...HK definitely ate her share of icing and candy during the process... the sugar kicked in about bed time!

HK definitely loves "My Nolan" as she refers to him. She wants to hold and kiss him whenever she gets the chance.

HK is showing off her "Awesome Big Sister" sticker. She got it in a card from Natalee. She was very proud of her sticker!

Nana getting the opportunity to feed Nolan and get lovin' from HK at the same time. I've had to pump several times and allow others to feed Nolan because of an infection I've had. For 5 days I've had episodes of spiking temperatures (102/103) accompanied with aches from head to toe...especially head and lower back. Doctor gave me an antibiotic because I had a kidney infection. Thankfully these episodes are getting further apart and not as intense. I will be glad when they finally go away...I think I'll actually feel pretty good then!!

HK getting her chance to help feed Nolan.

We went for a weight check at the hospital Monday morning and Nolan had gained almost 5 oz since we had left the hospital Friday morning!! I was very excited about this progress! He will be back to his birth weight very soon!
He's adjusting to his new home well. Let's just say with HK in the house, Nolan will be able to sleep through anything! He snoozes great, although the last two nights have been a bit more restless. I just keep telling myself, "This to shall pass!"
HK is spending a couple days in Eldorado to give us a bit more of a chance to adjust without so much help! I will miss her and be ready for her to come back.
I'm so thankful to God for my wonderful husband and my two beautiful children. I could not have a better husband in my life and Hallie Kate and Nolan are the icing on the cake!
Thank you LORD!!!

Two Days Old!

Thursday evening Daddy and HK went on a date while Nana stayed with Nolan & Mommy at the hospital. HK chose McDonalds because there was a playplace. Then when they came back we watched the end of Polar Express. Daddy, HK, and Nolan snuggled together.

Daddy and Nolan the morning we went home. Daddy is already teaching Nolan to be a Cubs fan.
He said he needs to learn early before he knows any better.

Daddy, Mommy, and Nolan coming home.

Hallie Kate was glad to see Nolan.

His bear suit....love it! It's his "winter coat".

You can see HK wanting to revert back to her baby days. She wanted Nana to take her picture in the car seat. Then she pulled it over to me so I could see her in it. That's just one of many HK baby moments to come I'm sure.

Nolan is already giving the females in his life the "retard look".
He definitely thinks enough pictures have been taken today.

Merry Christmas!

Nolan playing the guitar already!

HK holding "my Nolan" as she says.

She just wants to sit and hold him. She kisses him all the time.
Nana took Nolan & Grampy's picture. Nana told them to "cheese me", which is what Nana says to HK when she takes her picture. HK told Nana, "No, Nana. Nolan can't cheese you, he's just a baby!" We thought it was hilarious! She also said it with attitude and a pointed brow.

HK's first encounter with baby brother Nolan.

HK's first glimpse of her brother!
