Nolan's New Moves

So this is the move that Nolan has started doing lately. He pushed up great big and tall this morning while we were all playing in his room. Of course, by the time I got my camera he was no longer in push-up form nor could I get him to do it again.
You bet your bottom dollar if I am going to take a picture of it that HK will do it. So she was trying to help me get Nolan to do his new move again.

Uhhhhhhh....that's right. I am a stud. Sorry ladies...this is all your going to get for today's show.

Get out of my face....I said that's all for today. That's hard work.

He did manage to sort of do it one more time while I was stalking him with the camera.

Who knows...maybe if he had some personal space he would've done it again???

Hallie Kate has really enjoyed playing with all of her old toys that I have been pulling out for Nolan. She decided that she would share with Nolan this morning.

Put your backside in, put your backside out, put your backside in and you shake it all about. Nolan can be found in some pretty crazy positions these days as he is trying very hard to figure out how to escape this mad house we tell him is his home!

I can get my butt even higher if I push my face against that girl. I knew she would eventually become good for something.

Whewwwww...that is some hard work folks. At least she is not torturing me at the moment while I try figure out how to escape.
If I push up real hard like this...urrgghhhh...I move just ever so slightly backwards. Now...what in the world do I do to go forward??? hmmmmm.....

If all else fails, I always know if I just cry hard enough and long enough someone will eventually come and pick me up!HK wanted to take pictures this morning using our camera. So I tried to coach her in taking a picture of Nolan. Not too bad for the first time

Playdate With Zander

Tuesday we went to Carbondale to Aunt Toni & Uncle Jim's place. Zander is visiting them and wanted to get together with HK. Mom had Jack & Lilli on Tuesday. So we stuffed all the kids in the van. Jack and HK sat in the back. Nolan and Lilli in the middle. We got there a little before 10 am. Zander and Jack immediately hit it off and began that typical boy play that boys are born knowing how to do. HK did not want to be left out at all. So after observing for a few minutes she jumped right on top of the pile the next time they hit the floor.
This crazy play went on for a few minutes befor we decided it was time to head on out to the pool.
Uh Nana...could you please keep me safe from all of those crazy kids. Pretty sure we need to go a little further back to actually be in the safe zone. Yep...just a little more. Okay...now I will watch and learn.

HK & Zander sharing a ride.
It was their train.
Who really needs a pool when you have water guns like these???

Oh the glorious slip n' slide. It was on the most perfect hill too! HK and Zander knew no fear on this thing.
Both of them continued to slide several feet in the grass everytime!
Here I come....ready or not!!! HK wasn't really very good at waiting until the bottom was clear of others. So she crashed into them several times.

After lunch the foursome was very entertaining. Either Lilli or HK was the mother or boss...all of the other three were dogs. They would take naps, eat, play, carry toy bones around in their mouths (they were actually diving toys much to our relief...thought at first they were carrying around real dog bones in their mouths).

Then the infamous hose found its way into group play. The girls were tied up in the hose and the boys would swoop in and save them. Quite entertaining I must say!
HK on her way to give Zander a hug for saving her!

Oh no...they've been captured again. We must save them!

The whole crew before we took off for the day! We left about 3:30ish. We had lots of fun. Zander wanted HK to stay all night, and I am pretty sure she would've. I love watching young kids play together! There is never a dull moment!

Thanks for a fun day Uncle Jim & Aunt Toni!

Daddy Day!

Happy Father's Day to an amazing Daddy!

Daddy got to see one of his best friends this past weekend. We don't get to see Lee & Whitney very much anymore, but Lee was in Eldorado this past weekend. It was so good to see him!

We Love You so much Daddy!
Thank you for every little thing you do...just know you're the best!

Father's Day Weekend With Grampy!

Grampy & Nolan

Gramp & Hal (HK has been shortening everyone's name lately...I have been Mom. Nate has been Dad. Nana became Nan. Grampy became Gramp. It's been pretty funny. So we all started calling her Hal. She didn't like that so much. So she started calling us by our full names again. I told her she wasn't big enough to call me Mom!)
Grampy and his kiddos

Saturday night HK got her "tractor" ride. Yes, it's just a lawn mower but it's a big deal to her. So Nolan got to ride for the first time this weekend. I'm not sure she was completley thrilled with having to share her "tractor time" with Grampy.
All Nolan cared about was getting his hands on that steering wheel. If he had been able to have his way it would've been his mouth gumming the wheel.

Oh yes...the protective big sister in action making sure that "Bubby" does not fall off. Bubby is just one of the many names she has for Nolan.

Nolan took his time alone very serious.

Watch out Sis...this is my territory now!

HK got a wagon ride Saturday evening. We were going to set up the little pool but a little thunder shower kept that from happening.

All aboard the choo-choo train!

We love you Grampy!
Thank you so much for all that you do and the way you love us!
We are so blessed to be your grandchildren.
Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day Weekend With Papa

Father's Day weekend was spent with both grandpas and Daddy. Saturday morning we were with Papa. Saturday evening Daddy and Papa went golfing while HK, Nolan, and I spent some time with Grampy.

Saturday morning was spent mostly outside. HK wanted to play ball with Papa. However, by the time we got outside her interest had died down a bit.

This is the new stomping off pout..."No. I'm sorry. I go away now." Please make sure to read that line with as much 3 year old sass as possible!

HK wore one of Papa's Cubs hats out. The swing set was a big distraction from playing ball. She wanted to swing instead.

Even though it is a Princess bat and ball Papa is going to give HK another lesson in catching, throwing, and batting. Papa is trying to get HK to stand by the base that he got out and put in the yard. As you can tell...her attention is elsewhere...hmmm look at that pretty blue butterfly up in the tree. I wander if I can catch that?

Again, Papa trying to get and keep HK's attention for a ball lesson. Uh...I think she has spotted something more intriguing!
That's right folks...a flower...that term is used very loosely. All signs point in the direction of our daughter being the one in the outfield that is picking flowers and dancing to her own music. I will take the blame for that if it occurs. I keep trying to tell Nate that she just turned three and this is only her third "lesson".

She did manage to play ball for a few minutes. Then hide and seek was the new game. This lasted for quite awhile...
Papa & HK looking for Daddy...who kept walking around the house and through the house so they couldn't find him.
Then Papa had to find HK & Daddy.

No...she actually didn't get in trouble. Daddy is trying to teach her to count with her eyes closed and not peek or cheat!

Grandma Cathe suggested making a homemade slip n' slide Saturday morning.
The weather was perfect for outdoor fun. Homemade slip n' slide, some soap, and a sprinkler...perfect combo.

This is the way grandparents slide if they want to be hurting the next day.

Okay...enough spraying already. Who let Nate have control of the hose? How come he is not wet?
HK trying to push Papa down the homemade slip n' slide. This is the suggested way for grandparents to slide to refrain from injury and only incur soreness the next day.

Unfortunately Nolan took his morning nap through most of the outdoor fun.
He did get in on some good time as well!

The many faces of Nolan...
Seriously lady... could you put that thing away and just play with us down here.

Oh fine...if I smile then will you come play?!?!

That's it...no more smiles for you. The show is over.Ahhh...come one....you know I can't resist that crazy face you make.

...and he can't hold back and breaks his whole face into a smile.

HK & Daddy doing their fantastic flips. Nolan is pretty sure that he would prefer that Papa hold on real tight to him so that he doesn't have to try that just yet. He's pretty sure this is in the baby manual with a big circle drawn around it and a line slashed through it....gonna have to make sure Daddy sees that one.
Nope, I won't smile...won't do it.
Haaaaa....just kidding.
Take it away Brother!

A great day had by all!
We love you very much Papa or Grandfather and appreciate all that you do for us.
Thank you for loving us so much!
